Privacy Policy - DC Webhook
DC Enhancements built the DC Webhook app as a utility tool for creating and managing Discord webhooks. This service is provided by DC Enhancements at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This page informs users about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.
What DC Webhook Does
DC Webhook is a Discord utility app that allows you to:
- Create, edit, and manage Discord webhook configurations
- Compose rich messages with embeds, avatars, and content
- Save webhook presets and share them with other users
- Schedule webhook messages for later delivery
- Preview messages before sending them to Discord
- Import/export webhook configurations
Important: We transmit your webhook messages directly to Discord using the webhook URL you provide. We do not store, monitor, or intercept the content of your webhook messages.
When using DC Webhook, you may provide:
- Webhook URLs – Discord webhook URLs you create and save in the app (stored locally on your device)
- Webhook Configuration – Message content, usernames, avatar URLs, embed data, and other webhook settings (stored locally)
- Preset Data – Saved webhook configurations that you choose to keep for later use (stored locally)
- Optional Authentication – If you choose to link your Discord or Google account to enable public preset sharing features
The app integrates third-party services that may automatically collect:
- Device information (device type, operating system version, device identifiers)
- App usage analytics (screen views, session duration, feature usage, crash reports)
- General location data (city-level, for ads and analytics)
- Ad interaction data (ad impressions, clicks)
This data is collected through:
- Google Firebase Analytics – App usage patterns and performance monitoring
- Google Firebase Crashlytics – Crash reports and diagnostics for app stability
- Google Firebase Performance Monitoring – App performance metrics
- Google AdMob – Advertising metrics and personalization
How Your Data Is Used
Data Stored Locally (On Your Device)
- Webhook URLs and configurations are stored in a local database on your device
- Message history and edit history are stored locally for your convenience
- Presets and templates are stored locally unless you explicitly choose to share them publicly
- Theme preferences and app settings are stored in local SharedPreferences
We do NOT have access to any data stored locally on your device.
Data Transmitted to Discord
When you send a webhook message:
- Your message content, embeds, attachments, and configuration are sent directly to Discord via the webhook URL you provided
- We do NOT intercept, store, or have access to this data
- The transmission is direct from your device to Discord’s servers
Data Shared with Third-Party Services
Google Firebase Services:
- Analytics: Anonymized app usage data to help us understand how users interact with the app
- Crashlytics: Crash reports with stack traces (no personal information) to help us fix bugs
- Performance Monitoring: App performance metrics to optimize speed and responsiveness
- Realtime Database: If you choose to link your account and share presets publicly, preset metadata (NOT webhook URLs) is stored in Firebase
Google AdMob:
- Ad impressions and interaction data for serving relevant advertisements
- May use cookies or similar technologies for ad personalization
Authentication Services (Optional):
- If you choose to link your Discord account, we receive your Discord user ID, username, and email to enable public preset features
- If you choose to link your Google account, we receive your Google account ID and email for authentication purposes
- Authentication is entirely optional – core webhook functionality works without signing in
Public Preset Sharing
If you choose to make a preset public:
- The preset’s configuration data (message content, embeds, colors, etc.) is uploaded to Firebase Realtime Database
- Your Discord username and avatar (from your linked Discord account) are associated with the preset
- Your webhook URL is NEVER included – only the configuration is shared
- Other users can browse and apply your preset to their own webhooks
- You can delete your public presets at any time
Linking a Discord account is required to upload or download public presets. This ensures accountability and prevents abuse.
Data Security
We take data security seriously:
- Webhook URLs are stored locally on your device in an encrypted Room database
- Authentication tokens are stored using Android’s EncryptedSharedPreferences (AES-256 encryption)
- Biometric authentication (fingerprint/face unlock) can be enabled to protect access to the app
- Network communications use HTTPS encryption
- Firebase security rules restrict access to user data
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local Data
- All webhook URLs, presets, message history, and settings are stored locally on your device
- You can delete this data at any time through the app’s settings or by uninstalling the app
Cloud Data (Public Presets)
- If you uploaded public presets, they remain in Firebase until you delete them manually
- To delete all cloud data associated with your account, use the Data Deletion feature in Settings or visit:
- https://dcenhancements.github.io/data-deletion-request.html (replace with your actual hosted URL)
Third-Party Service Data
- Data collected by Google Firebase and AdMob is subject to their respective retention policies
- You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings (Android: Settings > Google > Ads)
Third-Party Services and Privacy Policies
DC Webhook integrates the following third-party services. Please review their privacy policies:
These services may collect data as described in their policies. We do not control their data practices.
